Scratch-off Secret #8

STRATEGY: WHERE AND WHEN TO PLAY!

TEXT FROM THE VIDEO:

When it comes to buying scratch-off cards, is there ever a right time and place to play? Our research says YES!

Here are two strategies that will help you pick the right timing and location FTW (for the win)!

Secret Strategy #1: Control the Roll

You want to have control over the retailer’s game roll and to buy one ticket at a time. To do that, it’s best to buy when business is slow.

If you buy one ticket when a retailer is really busy, then the next person or people in line behind you may buy tickets off of the same roll you’re trying to play. You no longer control that roll.

So, you’ll want to play when retailers are slow – when they don’t have a lot of business so you’re the only one buying tickets.

Secret Strategy #2: Watch and Wait

What if the retailer is busy and you can’t control the roll? Here’s your next best strategy:

  1. Buy one ticket at a time
  2. Get back in line, but watch what tickets other customers are
  3. If they buy the same game card as you, ask them if they

Usually, you don’t need to ask. You can either watch their faces (showing disappointment) or their actions (tossing their losing tickets into the trash bin).

Good News for You

Another customer’s loss may be your gain. If they lost, there’s a chance that the next card may be a winner. So, step right up and buy the next game off of the same roll.

However, if the previous customer won, then the next ticket will most likely NOT be a winner. Move on to the next best game featured on your latest ScratchSmarter Best Games to Play Report (if you haven’t read it yet, get your copy here).

Bottom Line: Pay Attention

Luckily, there is a simple strategy behind choosing where and when to play — and it may even impact whether you win or lose. The best thing you can do is pay attention to your surroundings.
